Ezekiel 23-26

“Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.” Ezekiel 26:2-3

Lord, I do not understand a great deal of these prophesies, but what I do know is that even in times of judgment and wrath, You are merciful to Your people. I praise Thee that You do not keep your anger forever and that your desire is nothing more than to bring us unto Yourself.

Ezekiel 19-22

“Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.” Ezekiel 22:26

Lord, I pray that You would  help me to put a difference between holy and unholy in my life. Recently You have put on my heart to be more open and forward about my faith in Thee and I pray that I would stand and speak the truth in love concerning Thee and Thy word.

Ezekiel 11-14

“And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.” Ezekiel 13:1-5

Lord, help me to not be like these prophets. Help me to be someone who speaks the truth of the world of God rather than using the name of Jesus Christ for my own gain. I do not desire to be a deceiver and to lead people astray. I desire to be the one who makes up the gap in the hedge that some might be saved. Help me to live for the as I ought.

Ezekiel 7-10

“And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.” Ezekiel 9:3-6

Lord, my desire is to be a man for Thee that would sigh for the sin that is committed day by day. I know that Thy judgment is coming to those in who the mark of Thy Son Jesus Christ is not found. Help me to be faithful witness and to warn them that lie in their sin of the pending judgment and tell them of Thy love and compassion.

Ezekiel 3-6

“Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries. And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations. And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.” Ezekiel 6:8-10

Lord, I know that nothing You do in my life is done vainly. Everything has its purpose and I know that You are working in my life to make me a more fit vessel for Thee. Lord, You know what is going on and I pray that You would comfort me and help me to keep my eyes on the prize that I may accomplish that which You have set before me.

Lamentations 4-Ezekiel 2

“And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.” Ezekiel 2:5

Lord, I have tried to live as I ought in front of people so they might know that I am a Christian and that Thou mayest be glorified. I pray that You would help me to be bold in my witness that it may be said in the places that I go, “…There hath been a prophet among them.”

Jeremiah 52- Lamentations 3

“Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.” Lamentations 2:11

Lord, I often wish I could have the heart Jeremiah did for the lost. That I would weep for their state and seek to do something about it. Lord, help me to love the lost, even when they are unlovable.

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23

Lord, it is difficult to read a book that is so full of sorrow and to find something that I wish to apply to my life. But I always seem to find that amongst sorrow, there is forgiveness and love. Lord, thank you for the trials that come into my life even if I do not react the right way. Help me to know you and to recognize Your working in my life.

Jeremiah 48-51

“In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.” Jeremiah 50:20

Lord, thank You that no matter the sin, there is always forgiveness to be found. I am constantly straying from Thy loving favor and seeking my own way but I pray that Thou wouldst bring me back into fellowship with Thee that I might know, like the Israelites, a sin that cannot be found.

“Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.” Jeremiah 50:34

Lord, thank You for being a strong redeemer that has the power to save any who would believe. Thank You that You throughly plead the cause of any is repentant of heart. Give rest, I pray Thee, to Thy servant and to all those of Vision Baptist Church from the sins that so easily beset them. Lord, I know how tiring sin often is and the battle to resist it. Lord, do a work in our lives that Thou may be glorified.

Jeremiah 44-47

“Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods. Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.” Jeremiah 44:4-6

Lord, You have given me Thy word to keep me from abominable things, but so often I turn not away from my sin and shame. Lord, I pray for Thy forgiveness and grace that I may stand and be counted among Thy faithful servants.

Jeremiah 40-43

“And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:) That the LORD thy God may show us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.” Jeremiah 42:2-4

Lord, I pray that you would do the same for me as these men asked of Thee; to show me the way wherein I should walk and all the things I must do. Lord, I stray daily from Thee and have failed Thee so often. Forgive the trespasses of Thy servant and help me to know Thee.

Jeremiah 32-35

“Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying, Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Lord, in all honesty, this morning I am not feeling 100% but I ask You to help me today to trust in Thee and to keep my heart stayed upon Thee. I do desire to be used of Thee for the cause of world evangelism and to see men changed and discipled. I pray Thee that Thou wouldst show me things that I know not.

Jeremiah 28-31

“Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD. So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.”

Lord, I do not know why I always buy into the Devil’s bill of goods and forget Thy goodness unto me. Forgive me and cleans me and help me to put far from me rebellion. Lord, truly Thou art good to Thy people.
