Jeremiah 52- Lamentations 3
“Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.” Lamentations 2:11
Lord, I often wish I could have the heart Jeremiah did for the lost. That I would weep for their state and seek to do something about it. Lord, help me to love the lost, even when they are unlovable.
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23
Lord, it is difficult to read a book that is so full of sorrow and to find something that I wish to apply to my life. But I always seem to find that amongst sorrow, there is forgiveness and love. Lord, thank you for the trials that come into my life even if I do not react the right way. Help me to know you and to recognize Your working in my life.
