Daniel 7-10

“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14

Lord, I thank You that no matter what happens in the world, in our country, in our church, and in my life, the end is already determined and Thou will have all glory and preeminence! All I ask is that from my life You will receive the maximum glory and that I would serve Thee with my whole heart.

“And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.” Daniel 7:24-26

I do not necessarily gather any spiritual truths from these verses but I find it interesting that our current administration is lead by a man who has a very similar mentality concerning change. Lord, I pray for our country and for the man you have seen fit to allow to lead us at this time. All things are in your hand as well as the heart of the king.

Daniel 3-6

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” Daniel 3:16-18

Lord, this is a verse that I have heard often in my Christian life. I often allow well known verses to slip on by when I hear them because it is my desire to truly know Thy word and not to rely on the verses that are continually returned to by arm chair theologians. But, on the other hand, these verses are given and more well known for a reason and that is the power that is behind them. Lord, I ought not be careful to answer anyone in any matter concerning the truth of Thy word. Though I should always strive to be kind a Thou art, I ought to be seeking to warn men of the pending doom that awaits any who would reject Jesus Christ. Help me to stand, even in the face of insurmountable odds as these men did.

“Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.”

Lord, I doubt highly that in my lifetime, I will ever be faced with the prospect of a fiery furniss, or anything of the like, but I do face the prospect of seeing those who will be thrown into the lake of fire. Lord, help me to stand in adversity that others may come to know Thee. Help me to know the gravity of my responsibility so that I will be moved to action. Lord, too often I do not consider the plight of the lost…I need Thy truth in my life to change my heart into a heart of flesh for the lost and for Thy people.

Ezekiel 47-Daniel 2

“As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” Daniel 1:17

Lord, I pray that you would help me to use the gifts and talents that You have given me. It is difficult at this moment to not feel like a failure but I know that you are doing a work in me that will bring things for the better. Lord, where I need improvement and more learning, I pray that you would strengthen. Help me to know Your will and guide me to where you would have me.

Ezekiel 44-46

“In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations. And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves. Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.” Ezekiel 44:7-9

Lord, I want a change in my life. We have been at this place time after time and we have been here enough that it is just about time that I just do what I know I ought to do. I have been uncircumcised in heart and have not separated myself out from that which is unholy. I have allowed excuses to keep me from doing what I ought to do. You have been good to me and have provided for every need yet I continually deny You my heart and my time. Forgive me and help me to change.

“And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.” Ezekiel 44:23

Lord, how can I teach the difference between the holy and profane when I do not take time in Thy word daily? Forgive my foolishness.

Ezekiel 39-43

“Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel 39:28-29

Lord, every trial you put into our lives is to prove us. Whether it be because of our disobedience or our obedience, I thank you for the times you allow me to learn from the things you put in my path. Lord, I pray that You would help me this week to determine what I must do to see success. Help me to be diligent and to keep my heart from sin.

Ezekiel 35-38

“For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be built: And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 36:9-11

Lord, praise be to Thee for Thy wonderful mercy and grace. Even in times of trial and judgment, You are good to Thy people and to Thy children. Help me to draw near unto Thee and to know Thy heart that I may be right with Thee and that my life would be used of Thee.

Ezekiel 31-34

“Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.” Ezekiel 31:10-11

Lord, how many times has my heart been lifted up with pride? I look at myself and the works of my hands and the people in my life and often think that I have accomplished great things but in truth, they were all the works of Thy hands. Lord, when I stand before Thee one day complete, I will have nothing to show other than Thy grace and mercy upon my life. Help me to love Thee and to boast solely in Thee.

Ezekiel 27-30

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.” Ezekiel 30:13

Lord, I pray that You would help me to purge the idols from my life. It seems that when I begin to think that I have a good thing going, and that I am drawing nearer to Thee, that something catches my heart and draws me away from Thee. Lord, help me today to reestablish myself in Thy word.
