Hebrews 9-13

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28

Dear God, thank You for Your eternal salvation! Lord, thank You that we must no longer hold to the never ending duties of the law but that we may live with the liberty that comes only through Jesus Christ. Help me now as a child of God to lay my life at the Savior’s feet and to serve continually.

“Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 10:15-18

Again, dear Lord, all praise be to Thee that my sins, You remember no more. Lord, I often struggled with this as a child, wondering how an all knowing God could literally forget my sins, however, knowing Thy word to be truth, I am amazed that You would choose to remember my sins no more. It would almost point to the fact that what I am writing at this very moment would seem strange to You. But nonetheless, thank You Lord for Your eternal salvation.

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26

Dear God, here again is this word “reproach.” Lord, again it comes to my mind, “Am I truly standing for Christ if there is no reproach for doing so in my life?” I do not desire to be bothersome, eccentric or overbearing in my manner towards people in regards to Jesus Christ, but I do desire to be bold and truthful in my representation of Him. Dear God, I pray that I would not be deterred by the riches or rewards of this world so that I would not speak the truth in love to those around me. Help me to be a true witness for Thee.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 121-2

Dear God, first I want to praise You that one of the greatest and deepest sins in my life, though still very present, You have given more victory over in my life than I could have ever imagined could be. Though I say this with caution, knowing that I am always capable of falling, I pray that You would continue Your good work in my. Second, I pray that the many, many other things in my life that I struggle with, that there would be victory that You may receive the greater glory from my life.
