I Peter 1-5

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” I Peter 1:6-9

Dear God, I thank You for the trials that You have put in my life. Lord, I cannot begin to express the gratitude that have knowing that You have counted me worthy to suffer for Thy sake that through it, You might receive the greater glory. Lord, I as I continue down life’s path, though things seem lighter at the moment, I pray that I would always be wary of the things that You allow me to be faced with that my conversation might be fitting of a child of God.

“Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” I Peter 2:10-12

Lord, I pray that before those who do not know Thee, that I would conduct myself in such a way that You would received the glory, and that they might come to know Thee as Savior. Lord, there are so many fleshly lusts that confront me daily and the war that is in my flesh is something that is very visible. Help me to turn from every weight and the sin which so easily besets me.
