Numbers 26-30

“And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying, Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.” Numbers 27:15-23

Lord, to be a man as Joshua was is something I could never attain unto. Lord, my desire is to be someone who can be used of Thee greatly but I know that I am nothing that I should be considered worthy of such a place. My only prayer is that my life would not be in vain, that I would live for Thee with my whole heart. Help to know Thy plan for my life and to follow it with all my heart.

Numbers 21-25

“And he answereed and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?” Numbers 23:12

Lord, I pray that money would never be something that I would use as an excuse to do or say that which is against Thee and Thy word. I know that I am a weak man and that I am noting in the face of such enemies. I pray that I would stand for the truth and that I would not become know for such things as Balaam.

Numbers 16-20

“Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men: And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?” Numbers 16:1-3

Lord, truly I am a prideful man. I pray that You would help me to be humble and to know my place. Lord…these were men of renown that gathered themselves together against the man of God. They were not just every day arm chair theologians…these were men who were known among the congregation as leaders. I pray that my pride nor my opinion would never take precedence over the way You would have things to be because it will only lead to destruction.

Numbers 11-15

“I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.” Numbers 11:14-15

Lord, I doubt highly that I have ever dealt with the stress that Moses dealt with here but I have felt like saying what he said. Lord, there are a lot of questions I have right now about what You are doing in my life and I am asking You if You would please help me to have the wisdom that is necessary to see what it is that You have for me at this time in my life. I pray that You would help me not be frustrated and anxious but rather to mindful of Thy word, to stay close to it and to become more faithful in the things that I do know that I ought to do. Lord, do a work in my life and help me to learn the things that I need to learn.

Leviticus 26-Numbers 3

“And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.” Leviticus 26:6

Lord, I know now that by Thy grace we are saved and that under no merit of our own would we be able to live up to Thy law…but God, my hope is that You would make this verse true in my life. You have allowed us to go through these trials because in due time, You have a plan for our lives. I pray that through this time of turmoil that You would bring a time of unparalleled peace and prosperity. I truly want to serve Thee but honestly feel like I’m coming around a blind corner on my path. Help me to trust You and not to despair.

Leviticus 26-Numbers 3

“And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.” Leviticus 26:12-13

Lord, I truly need You during these days. There is nothing that I can do to cause myself to go upright. I feel I am in bondage to my sin and to so many unjust weights at the moment. Lord, I desired not to be a bondman to sin and circumstances. I pray that You would be with Cindi and I as we seek Thee through all that You have set before us. Help us to see it as Your hand of blessing and not of cursing. Help us to know Thee through every moment of every day.

Leviticus 21-25

“But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.” Leviticus 21:4

Lord, though this was the law as pertaining to the Levites, there is a very important principle here that I pray would be a part of my life. The priests were not to defile themselves because they were chiefs among the people, they were leaders. Lord, I do not consider myself a chief among my people but I would be foolish to believe that I do not have influence on those around me. I pray that You would help me to live a holy life. Lord, help me not to stray from Thy word as I so often do. I truly am miserable when I find myself outside of my daily communion with Thee. Your word has taken a hold on me and I thank You for that. I desperately need it in my daily life and my prayer above all at the moment is that I would make the adjustments in my life that are necessary to keep me in its pages every day.

Leviticus 11-20

“But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.” Leviticus 20:10

Lord, thank You for the beautiful picture of Jesus Christ that we see here in that He carried our sin far from us, never to be seen again. Lord, truly I am an unworthy servant and not worthy to be called Thy son. More so it seems that every day I am continually straying from Thee and either doing the things that I ought not or not doing the things that I should. Lord, how could it be that You desire fellowship with me. Forgive me my trespass and help me to draw near unto Thee.

Leviticus 6-10

“And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot. And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.” Leviticus 8:23-24

“Lord, though Moses and Aaron were doing all the works that You had commanded them to do, I wonder if they have any idea what You were truly doing with them. In Thy word in Hebrews 9:10 it reads “Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.” Lord, Moses and Aaron did what You had commanded but they truly did not know…they were following Thee by faith that what You were having them do would suffice for their salvation. You truly are an amazing God. Help me to have the faith that is necessary now to live for Thee with all my life.”

“And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.” Leviticus 10:8-11

Lord, for some time now I have been wondering what it is that You would have me to do with my life. Honestly Lord, I am realizing through the teaching of Thy word and through the influences that You have put in my life that it is not what I will do for You with my life but what I will be for Thee with my life. Lord, no matter what vocation that You have for me to do whether it be ministry or secular work, that I must always be someone that puts a difference between holy and unholy. Help me to become someone of influence in that I am someone who follows You in such a way that people will be drawn unto Thee.

Leviticus 1-5

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.” Leviticus 4:2-3

Dear God, I thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ that he was my sin offering. Lord, I am wretched through and through and often disgusted with myself for my manner of living. Lord, my desire is that I would do right all the time but it never ends up that way. There are times where I am doing all I know I should but most of the time I find myself letting the things that matter most slip through my fingers. Lord, my heart is heavy now and has been for some time. I desire to be someone who is worthy of Thy use but day by day, the disciplines I know I must have are set to the side. Lord, of a truth, if it were not for Jesus Christ, we would all be hopelessly lost. There is nothing I could have ever hoped to have become that would have made me worthy to be called Thy son. I’ve started today off right in that I am in Thy word, but there are many hours left. Help me to honor Thee today.

Bible Reading: 2091105

Exodus 36-40

“Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded. And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it: And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.” Exodus 36:1-7

Dear God, I long for the day that I may actually see too much given. I long for the day when I see Your people so stirred about what You are doing that they cannot restrain themselves from getting involved. Moreover, I long to draw near unto Thee and to be part of such a movement. Lord, I feel very distant from the work and from what it is that I am supposed to do. I am seemingly becoming more unsure of my purpose. I fear that my love for Thee is too small to be involved in the manner that I would like. Lord, forget the commitments to the work for a moment…I ask that I would love Thee more. Help me to love Thee with reckless abandon so that I might do the things that I ought to be used of Thee.

“And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.” Exodus 40:33-35

Lord, so often we focus on the offering and the people’s willingness to bring it for Thee, but too often we do not look upon the result. Lord, it was because of the love the people had for Thee that Your presence filled the tabernacle. Lord, help me to look upon Thee and the so that the purpose You have laid before me may be manifest. Fill me with Thy Holy Spirit and give me a heart of flesh that I might love Thee as I ought.

Exodus 31-35

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.” Exodus 31:1-5

Dear God, this man Bezaleel had at least two things going from him; a godly heritage and God given ability. His grandfather Hur was one of the men who held Moses’ hands during the battle as well as one of the two men who were to go a little way when Moses went into the mountain to receive the stone tablets. Lord, You have also given me those things but I feel as I am not utilizing those things as I ought. My hope is that I will be used by Thee for great and mighty things but at the moment I feel rather lost. I am not sure where my place lies in the grand scheme of things. Lord, I first pray that You would help me to be faithful as You have for some time now (even though I often fail), and second that I would know Your peace in this period of uncertainty.

Exodus 26-30

“And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.” Exodus 28:30

Dear God, thank You for our High Priest, Jesus Christ who bears our names on His heart continually. Dear God, thank You for Your mercy and righteous judgment toward Your people and most of all to me. I know that apart from Thee, I truly am nothing and capable of nothing. Help me to serve Thee daily with my whole heart. I pray that, as Aaron did, that You would help me to bear the world upon my heart and care for the lost as You do. Lord, I have many friends and coworkers that need to know You; I pray that you would help me to be a light in darkness for their lives.

Exodus 21-25

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.” Exodus 25:1-2

Dear God, there is not much that I have to offer You other than myself. Lord, I honestly at this time feel very insignificant and weary. Lord, I pray that You would help me to be encouraged in Thee. Lord, I desire to live my life for Thee but who am I to serve such a God. Lord, I have such pride in my heart, thinking highly of myself in such a way that I believe that you would use me because of who I am and the things I have to offer. Truly Lord, I am nothing…there is no amount of strength, intellect or spiritual goodness in me to warrant use by the Master. I look at my situation and wonder why I am not better established, why all my seemingly hard work has not seen fruit beyond measure…but when I look in my heart, I know that my goodness has nothing to do with it. Lord, all of my needs are met to the point where there is much to spare. Help me to be content as I should and to wait on Thee.

Exodus 16-20

“And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:” Exodus 16: 1-2

Lord, too often I am just like the children of Israel in that I soon forget the mighty works of Thy hand in my life. How soon I begin to complain about the condition of my life and take for granted the things that Thou hast provided for me. I pray that Thou wouldst forgive the sin of Thy servant and that I might bring Thee glory with my life.

“And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening. And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even? And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws. And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.” Exodus 18:13-17

Lord, I pray that I would deal wisely in the business of my life as Jethro instructed Moses. I pray Thee that Thou wouldst grant unto me the wisdom to lead those You would put in my life in a biblical, practical and productive manner. Help me above all to love Thee with all my heart

Exodus 11-15

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether. Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver and jewels of gold. And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.”

Dear God, it is interesting to see the progression from when Moses first began to stand before Pharaoh and to the time when you sent the final plague against the Egyptians. At first Moses was seemingly outfoxed by Pharaoh and his magicians but slowly and surely, You showed Yourself strong until we end up here where the Bible says that You had given Moses and the people great favor in the sight of the Egyptians. You commanded the people to borrow gold and silver because You knew that the next day Your people would be on their way out. God, I know that you have planned a great work in my life, though things may seem like they are not moving much, I know there will come a day when things will tip. Lord, I pray that Thou wouldst help me to follow after Thee with my whole heart that I might be worthy of such an honor to be used of Thee.

Exodus 6-10

“Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.” Exodus 6:1

Dear God, truly Thou hast shown Thyself mighty in my life. You truly are  a God with a strong hand and I pray with that hand, You will do more mighty things in my life. Help me to stand daily in the strength of Thy Spirit and Thy word.

Exodus 1-5

“And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” Exodus 4:10

Lord, I often feel inadequate like Moses did, especially now, You have been blessing my life in ways that I could have never imagined but I still feel like I am coming up short. Lord, today was a discouraging day, I wish I could have done a better job with what I was given but I feel very unproductive. Lord, I also feel very unproductive in my ministry and spiritual life as well, I pray that You would help me. I have allowed myself to become slack handed again as I have so many times before. My desire is to honor and glorify Thee and I know that I have not done so.

Bible Reading: 2091006

Genesis 46-50

“And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.” Genesis 48:11

Dear God, it is such a marvelous thing that You always do much more than people desire of Thee. Truly Thou art a generous, loving and gracious God. Help me to love Thee with all my heart.

Bible Reading: 2091005

Genesis 41-45

“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.” Genesis 41:38-40

Dear God, my hope is that one day I will find myself in a position of influence as Joseph did but Lord, in my heart of hearts, I know that I am not the man that Joseph was. I know beyond an shadow of a doubt that I am nowhere near where I must be to have such influence and power. My hope is that I will be used for great things but Lord, I pray that You would not allow me to move up until I have become a wise and disciplined man to do so. Lord, I have tried to move up faster than I should have in the past and I know that it leads to nothing but frustration and discouragement. Lord, I cannot describe how much my heart desires to do something great, help me to be the man to be used in that manner.

Bible Reading: 2091002

Genesis 36-40

“And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.” Genesis 39:1-5

Lord, I pray that in whatever situation that I am in that I would be made prosperous by Thee. Lord, though Joseph was undoubtedly a diligent and trustworthy man, I often look at those things as the means to his success rather than the fact that the works of his hands were made prosperous only by Thee. Lord, that is what my prayer is for my life, that the works of my hands would be made prosperous by Thee and for Thy name’s sake. Lord, I desire that people would see my life and know that I love Thee and desire to serve Thee. Lord, I have high hopes for my life someday but Lord, if it is Your plan for me to be a man of low decree among men, then so be it. Lord, help me to be used of Thee.

Genesis 31-35

“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Genesis 32:28-30

Dear God, men throughout Thy word have asked you to bless them and every time You have shown Thyself faithful to perform that which You have promised. Lord, I ask You to bless my life and to help me to honor Thee in all things. Lord, I have no idea what Your plans are for my life but I ask that my life would not be in vain but would be used to great things for Thy name’s sake.

Genesis 26-30

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.” Genesis 26:12-16

Lord, I don't know what it is you have in store for my life. I have pursued many different avenues and set many a goals. I always find myself in a more propserous place as a result but no more sure of what it is that I am suppsoed to do with my life than the last. I have pursued being a Missionary, Businessman, Entreprenur and so on. Lord, you greatly blessed both Abraham and Isaac financially and did great things in there life. Lord, whether I am to be a man of poor income, average income or a prosperous income, I ask that You use my life. I have resigned myself to Thy will that I may bring you the maximum glory with my life. I do ask that You would bless me as You blessed Isaac but not before bless me as You did Solomon with the wisdom to use it for the glory of God.

Genesis 21-25

“That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.” Genesis 23:9-12

Dear God, I do not know if there is any significance to what I see within this portion of scripture, but what I see is very similar to the manner in which you offer salvation to the children of men. When we strive and long and plead for salvation; and after we have done all that it seems that we can do to earn Thy salvation, it comes down to little more than Thy loving compassion and Thy marvelous grace in that You say “Nay…give I thee.” Help me Lord to know the truth of all that Thou doest in my life that I may be ever mindful of Thy love toward me and that I would always be grateful for this unspeakable gift that Thou hast given me.

Genesis 16-20

“And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” Genesis 18:17-19

Lord, if only this could be said about my household. Lord, I pray that I will be a good father and that I will command my children to keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment. Lord, I truly fear that responsibility though I desire it greatly. I know that You have a plan and purpose for every person and that all things work together for good to them that love God and are the called according to Thy purpose. My desire is that my children would walk in truth despite my own foolishness. Help me to stand that my house would follow Thee from generation to generation if it be Thy will that our family endure.

Genesis 11-15

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3

Lord, I thank Thee for Thy Son, Jesus Christ, whom You sent that the whole world might be blessed through His glorious salvation. Lord, I pray that I would be a faithful witness of this truth and that through my testimony others might know Him. I pray especially for my family as I go to spend time with them here in a few weeks. Lord, I desire that those who are lost would come to know Thee and those who are far from Thee would return. Lord, for many years I have battled to live for Thee in their presents and have failed miserably. I pray that a true difference could be made and that they would be saved.

“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” Genesis 15:1

Lord, I thank Thee that Thou art also my exceeding great reward. I thank Thee that no matter my physical wellbeing that Thou art my Portion and my Provider. I know that I shall at never beg bread or be forsaken by Thee in any way. Lord, I pray that through the great abundance that Thou hast given me, that I would be a provider for Thy ministry even though I am giving Thee of what is already Yours.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” Genesis 9:11-13

Dear God, thank You for the mercy that You showed Noah, for without it, none of us who have the privilege to serve Thee today would be here. Thank You that Thou art a merciful God and full of grace that You would choose to love and to use creatures such as us. Help me to live as Noah did that I might find the same grace that he did. Lord, I am truly an unprofitable servant and full of wickedness. Help me, through Thy word, to stand and to be true witness for Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1-5

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Genesis 2:21-25

Dear God, I thank you with everything I am for my wife. Lord, as I have said before, never let me pass over a passage dealing with the marriage relationship and not thank You for her. Where would I be without such a perfect and wonderful spouse. Lord, above all, I pray that You would help me to remain ever faithful to her and her alone. Help me not be given over to such things as pastor preached yesterday that would cause me to behold strange women and my heart to utter perverse things. Lord, as it says in the model prayer, lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil.

Revelation 17-22

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16

Lord, I thank You for my salvation, I praise Thee for being the King of kings and Lord of lords! Dear God, this feeble tongue of mine cannot give praise enough to Thy glorious name! All praise and glory and honor be unto Thee for Thou art worthy of all and more. Help me to be a faithful servant and to stand firm in the face of adversity. Remove far from me all jesting a foolish speech that my lips may show forth Thy praise! Help me this day to withstand in the evil hour, every temptation, weight and the sin which doth so easily beset me.

Revelation 13-16

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.” Revelation 13:5-6

Lord, help me always to wary of those who are good with their words yet speak blasphemies. Lord, people are so easily swayed by an eloquent tongue, help me to be a man of the book that I may test and prove what is said that I might honor Thee. Help me most of all to share Christ with others that they might not have to endure the things that are written in this book.

Revelation 5-8

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” Revelation 6:9-11

Lord, I can’t say that I desire to die but if it be Thy will Lord, help me to be faithful enough to be counted worthy of such an honor and to bring Thee maximum glory.

Jude 1

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Jude 1:3-5

Lord, I pray that I would more earnestly contend for the faith. Doctrine is too important of a thing for me not to give due credence to. Help me to stand and to separate as I should from the workers of iniquity and disobedient brethren. Hel me to teach the truth and to speak it in love.

III John 1

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” III John 1:2-5

Lord, this may sound selfish, but I pray that there would be those who would rejoice in the fact that I walk in truth. Not to say that I am the greatest to ever do but that I would do so at all. Lord, I desire to be close to Thee and to walk by Thy side daily. There have been so many people who have invested in my life; my prayer is that they would see heavenly returns. Lord, I do also desire to see fruit to my labor. I know that only You can give the increase and if You don’t, I labor in vain. I pray that You would bless the work of my hand that it would not be in vain and that there would be souls in heaven one day as a result of Thy blessings.

“Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.” III John 1:6-8

Dear God, help me to be a charitable person, help me to be a fellow helper of the truth, but most of all help me to produce other fellow helpers of the truth. Lord, I often look at my life and the level of influence that I have with others is seemingly small. I desire to be a light that others would seek to imitate and to give their all to the ministry. Lord, I pray for those who have expressed interest in our church and what we believe at my work place. I pray that I would have the right manner of living that they would see my good works and glorify my Father which is in Heaven.

II John 1

“And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.” II John 1:5-6

Lord, I thank Thee that for nearly fifteen years I have been a part of Thy fold. Dear God, I, just as this elect lady, have heard Thy commandments from the beginning and every day I continually fall. I pray that you would help me to walk in Thy word daily as I seek to win others to Christ. Dear God, I pray for those who I am endeavoring to bring unto Thee at work. I pray that we would have the privilege of having them in Thy house soon.

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed: For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds.” I John 1:9-11

Dear God, as much as I am frustrated with my own failures, I am becoming daily more frustrated by the false doctrine and apathy that permeates the overall demeanor of Christianity. The general acceptance of worldly doctrine is an epidemic beyond proportion. Lord, I pray that I would be a light on a hill rather than under a bushel. I am tired of how church in the minds of people is little more than a social club rather than the body in which Christ died for and commissioned to reach the world with the gospel. Help me to stand and to speak the truth in love and to be an example of how others ought to serve Christ.

I John 1-5

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” I John 1:5

Lord, I Thank Thee that I can have confidence that the way in which You lead me is true. I thank Thee that Your light shines on my path, guiding me into the knowledge of Thee. Lord, I pray that You would help me to stand firm in Thy word. I thank Thee that my desire for it is growing and it is becoming something that cannot be overlooked due to a busy schedule. Help me to know Thee as Paul and Moses prayed. Show me Thy countenance and lead me in the way everlasting.

“ I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.” I John 2:13-14

Lord, I have been a little child for some time now. My desire is to overcome the wicked one but truly, my skill with the word is wanting. Lord, I desire to know Thy precepts that I may stand in the day of adversity. I desire to be fully clad in the armor of the Spirit that I may withstand in the evil day. Help me to achieve the level of a young man and eventually that of a father; someone who is skilled and has stood by Thee for a great while.

II Peter 1-3

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” II Peter 1:5-8

Lord, I desire that there would be fruit for Thy sake in my life. I pray that You would help me to add these things unto my life. All of these things are very important but the one that jumps out is knowledge. Lord, I have been so slack concerning studying to show myself approved unto Thee. Help me to fill my heart with Thy word and to be an able bodied student of Thy oracles.

I Peter 1-5

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” I Peter 1:6-9

Dear God, I thank You for the trials that You have put in my life. Lord, I cannot begin to express the gratitude that have knowing that You have counted me worthy to suffer for Thy sake that through it, You might receive the greater glory. Lord, I as I continue down life’s path, though things seem lighter at the moment, I pray that I would always be wary of the things that You allow me to be faced with that my conversation might be fitting of a child of God.

“Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” I Peter 2:10-12

Lord, I pray that before those who do not know Thee, that I would conduct myself in such a way that You would received the glory, and that they might come to know Thee as Savior. Lord, there are so many fleshly lusts that confront me daily and the war that is in my flesh is something that is very visible. Help me to turn from every weight and the sin which so easily besets me.

Hebrews 9-13

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28

Dear God, thank You for Your eternal salvation! Lord, thank You that we must no longer hold to the never ending duties of the law but that we may live with the liberty that comes only through Jesus Christ. Help me now as a child of God to lay my life at the Savior’s feet and to serve continually.

“Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 10:15-18

Again, dear Lord, all praise be to Thee that my sins, You remember no more. Lord, I often struggled with this as a child, wondering how an all knowing God could literally forget my sins, however, knowing Thy word to be truth, I am amazed that You would choose to remember my sins no more. It would almost point to the fact that what I am writing at this very moment would seem strange to You. But nonetheless, thank You Lord for Your eternal salvation.

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26

Dear God, here again is this word “reproach.” Lord, again it comes to my mind, “Am I truly standing for Christ if there is no reproach for doing so in my life?” I do not desire to be bothersome, eccentric or overbearing in my manner towards people in regards to Jesus Christ, but I do desire to be bold and truthful in my representation of Him. Dear God, I pray that I would not be deterred by the riches or rewards of this world so that I would not speak the truth in love to those around me. Help me to be a true witness for Thee.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 121-2

Dear God, first I want to praise You that one of the greatest and deepest sins in my life, though still very present, You have given more victory over in my life than I could have ever imagined could be. Though I say this with caution, knowing that I am always capable of falling, I pray that You would continue Your good work in my. Second, I pray that the many, many other things in my life that I struggle with, that there would be victory that You may receive the greater glory from my life.

Hebrews 5-8

“As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 5:6-10

Dear God, I thank Thee for Jesus Christ and His perfection, that made Him the author of eternal salvation for all. I pray that, as I stated yesterday, You would help me to walk worthy of what You have called me to do with my life, that Thou mayest receive all glory, honor and praise. I pray that this flippant attitude of the heart would be purged out and that You would give me a heart of flesh that is tender to the wooing of the Holy Spirit. Most of all, I pray that my heart would be filled with Thy word. That I would no longer take lightly my daily walk with Thee as I so often have over this last year. Lord, I love Thee and pray that You would guide me into all truth.

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” Hebrews 6:4-6

Lord, I would be lying if I said that I have never considered turning back into the world, but of a truth, whenever I have considered it, this scripture has rung true in my life. Lord, You have done such wonderful things in my life that it would be impossible for me to live in such a way that puts You to an open shame without every moment of my day being spent in utter sorrow and misery. Lord, I pray that You would forgive me for my sin and help me as I endeavor to stand against all odds for Thee. Lord, I thank you that Thy word has constrained my heart that though I may desire to give up, having tasted of the heavenly gift, I cannot.

Hebrews 1-4

“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.” Hebrews 2:1

Dear God, I have done anything but give earnest heed to Thy word. I have allowed diligent study to go to the way side and have been content to haphazardly dote in Thy word. Lord, my heart has been challenged of late to give more earnest heed to doctrine and truth, and more so, to speak the truth in love and not fear the scorn of those who would disagree. Help me to love Thee and to be more of a witness.

Philemon 1

“Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.” Philemon 1:21

Lord, help me always to be one who would go beyond what is required of me and to do more than that which has been instructed of me. Lord, though this is something that I endeavor to do, there are many times that I find myself doing only the minimum. Help me to love Thee and to keep Thy word.

Titus 1-3

“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.” Titus 2:1-2

Dear God, I pray that you would help me to speak the things that become sound doctrine. Dear God, as we learned this week, though we must be careful not to be too harsh, we must also be careful not to be too soft. Lord, I believe that I have become too soft and have not been willing to speak the outright truth for fear of hurting or offending. Help me to speak the truth in love and follow after the truth of Thy word.

II Timothy 1-4

“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” II Timothy 1:5

Lord, every day that goes by and every sermon I hear, I realize how little my faith truly is. This truth is seen in my lack of service to Thee, seeing that faith without works is dead. Lord, I pray that You would help my unbelief and to stand in the face of adversity.

I Timothy 1-6

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” I Timothy 1:15-15

Lord, you have given me grace and mercy for one reason…so that I might be a pattern of the glory of God. Help me to stand and to be a pattern of the  grace that You offer to all men.

II Thessalonians 1-3

“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” II Thessalonians 1:1-10

Dear God, how unfaithful I must be because I do not endure such persecution and tribulation. I thank you that I live in a country with such freedoms as I enjoy but I wonder if my commitment to Thee would be greater if I endured more affliction because of my stand for Thee. Help me to be more of a witness.

I Thessalonians 1-5

“For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” I Thessalonians 2:3-4

Lord, I pray that You would forgive me for being one who speaks to please men’s ears. I have been fearful and ashamed of the truth. I pray for Your forgiveness and ask you to help me speak the truth in love that others may know and come to Thy Son, Jesus Christ.

“For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain. But now when Timothy came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.” I Thessalonians 3:5-8

Lord, I pray that the same could be said of me, that my faith in Thee brings comfort to those who have labored to help me as I have grown. I desire to stand firm but I know that I truly am an unfaithful servant. Dear God, I honestly do not know what it will take to bring me to the next level, but this one thing I know, every trial and trouble that I have been through thus far, You have shown Yourself faithful and have sustained me. Do what You will with my life.

Colossians 1-4

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:20

Lord, thank you for the peace that You have freely given through Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, to try and comprehend where I would be without Thee is a thought that I do not want to delve into. My life is filled with mercy, grace and all manner of blessings…now help me to share all of those with a lost and dying world.

“Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:7-9

Lord, so many people are pulled away by the appeal of intellectualism. People desire the prestige of intelligence and, because of the world’s desires and ideals, the wool has so cleverly been pulled over their eyes so that they might not see the things of Christ. I pray dear Lord that You would grant me wisdom to know how I might give an answer to those who would seek Thee. Help me by Thy power to show forth Jesus Christ as the only means for eternal life and a life that is lived with true purpose for Him.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Lord, one of the things that caught my attention yesterday in the story about William Cary was when a friend of his reproved him for neglecting his business to preach the gospel. William Cary with confidence proclaimed that his business was to proclaim the truth to the heathen and making shoes was merely to pay those expenses. Lord help me to view all that I do in that manner. Help me to ever seek to proclaim the truth to those around me without fear.

Philippians 1-4

“But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” Philippians 1:12-14

Lord, I fear that these types of things that happened to Paul that caused the gospel to be furthered; in my own life would serve only to deter me from truly following Thee. Lord, I truly am weak and incapable without Thee. I pray that my life would reflect the truth that is found in Thy word and that You would help me to seek to win the lost. Lord, I fear that my personal testimony is not one of a stout believer in Jesus Christ but as someone who is mediocre and timid when it comes to sharing the truth of Jesus Christ. Help me now to stand with boldness and proclaim the name of Jesus Christ regardless of the earthly consequences.

Lord, thank you for giving me the chance to be used of Thee. Truly Thy power is great toward me. Help me to stand firm in Thy word and to seek daily to win the lost.

Galatians 2-6

“Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” Galatians 3:21-25

Lord, thank You for revealing my lost condition by Thy word. Thank You for teaching me of my need of Jesus Christ and His salvation. Help me as I endeavor to spread Your truth that others may become righteous.

II Corinthians 11-Galatians 1

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” II Corinthians 11:13-15

Dear God, help me to know those who would deceive people who are lost in darkness. Help me to know those who seek to lean Thy people astray. Help me to be filled with Thy word that they may be manifest by their fruits and that I would be a true witness for Thee.

I Corinthians 7-10

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” II Corinthians 7:10

Dear God, I pray that You would help me to have a godly sorrow for the lost and for the faults of my life. Dear God, too many times there have been things that I have allowed to slip in my life and not had sorry in my heart as a result. I have seared my conscience with a hot iron so many times it is as if I have not emotional reaction towards the things of God and the things I do wrong. Help me to love Thee, give unto me a heart of flesh in the place of this stony one that others may know Thy Son.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” II Corinthians 10:5-6

Dear God, every day there are imaginations of my heart that truly frighten me. Lord, my desire is to serve and love Thee, help me to think on the good things of Thee. Lord, may the word of God reign true in my heart and be the bane of all that I would do against Thee

II Corinthians 3-6

“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” II Corinthians 4:5-7

Dear God, thank you for the Treasure of Jesus Christ that Thou has provided for all men. Lord thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a vessel used of Thee to shine forth the glory of Jesus Christ. Help me to be the epistle that all men read and see the love of Jesus Christ and His wonderful grace. Help me to stand firm in Thy word and to love Thee with my whole heart.

I Corinthian 11-14

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.” I Corinthian 11:1-2

Lord, I pray beyond anything else that I would be a follower of Thy word. There are things that are going on in my life and questions that have been posed that, though I have the biblical answers for, the subject matter is a touchy one. I pray that I would have the wisdom to answer in the manner that is befitting a child of God. Help me to be a witness in my workplace and to make wise decisions for the directions my life is going.

I Corinthians 15-II Corinthians 2

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” I Corinthians 5:33-34

Dear God, my life truly is a shame. I daily allow my manner of life to be corrupted by sin. Lord, forgive the unfaithfulness of Thy servant and the poor witness that I am. Help me to live for Thy honor and glory and to do all that is necessary to reach the world with the gospel.

I Corinthians 7-10

“Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.” I Corinthians 7:1

Lord, no matter how many times I come across a passage that deals with this subject, it is something that puts a sense of caution in my heart. First off, my prayer is that this sense of caution would always remain; and second, that I would always seek to improve upon my relationship with my wife. Lord, she is the world to me and never could there be in my eyes someone more perfect that could have been given to me. Help me always to love a cherish her and I if I would ever stray from the vows that I have made, my prayer is that my life would be taken from me.

I Corinthians 3-6

“Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” I Corinthians 5:6-8

Lord, I pray that as I am endeavoring to draw closer to Thee and to be more involved in the ministry, that You would help me to purge out the old leaven that is in my life, things like laziness, excuses and the like. Help me to be a lay aside very weight and the sin that so easily besets me that I might be able to run my race.

Romans 15-I Corinthians 2

“We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself: but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.” Romans 15:1-3

Lord help me not to be seeking to please myself. My flesh truly is weak and is constantly screaming for attention. Help me to stand in the power of Thy might and to have a mind to serve others.

Romans 11-14

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6

Lord, though I have accepted Thy salvation by grace through faith alone…it seems that when it comes to the way that I live my life daily, I work with the expectation that You will honor the things I do, yet they are for the most part without faith. How then can I expect You will honor the works that I do? I have some tough decisions to make and Lord I pray that I would make them based upon the truth of Thy word and on the faith that through Thy grace, you will use my life for Your honor and glory, no matter the manner in which You use me.

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” Romans 12:9

Lord, I desire to live as this verse states, but I, like Paul seem always  to do that thing which I would not and not do the thing that I would. It is a thorn in my flesh and I am so weary of. Lord forgive the slackness of Thy servant and help me as I attempt to move forward for Thee.

Romans 7-10

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.” Romans 8:31-33

Lord, thank you for being my advocate! Lord, if it was not for You, my life would not only be in utter ruin but I would be cast into the depths of Hell. Lord, I pray that as I begin to move forward to be more involved in Your ministry, that You would guide me more toward what I ought to do and to be.

Romans 3-6

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20

God, I pray that my mind would be filled with Thy word that the knowledge of my sin would be manifest. There are so many things I do that I am not aware of because I am not aware of Thy word. Help me to know You more and to stand when there is no strength to stand.
